Two practices, a common approach
CSB Avocats acts for companies and for senior employees and executives. Each engagement is conducted in the interests of the client represented, following a review of potential conflicts of interest.
The employer practice covers individual and collective employment relations, executive departures, reorganisations and the employment aspects of acquisitions and disposals. The executive practice addresses recruitment terms, employment status, remuneration and the protection of clients’ interests during employment and on departure.
Reviewing the evidence before deciding on a course of action
The work begins with a chronology and a review of the documents. Contracts, remuneration arrangements, the actual allocation of responsibilities and professional correspondence are considered together to identify the legal issues and available evidence.
This analysis informs the steps to be taken, applicable deadlines and the scope for negotiation. In litigation, it provides the foundation for written submissions and the presentation of evidence before French employment tribunals and Courts of Appeal.
Working with other advisers
Executive matters and corporate transformations may involve employment contracts, corporate office and equity incentives. The firm addresses their employment law implications and coordinates with the relevant advisers on corporate and tax matters.
The lawyer responsible for the matter follows the discussions and decisions from the initial review through to the completion of the engagement.
