Contact and purposes
When you contact the firm by email or telephone, the information you provide is used to assess your enquiry, establish whether the firm can act and respond to you. It may include your identity, contact details, details of the parties involved and a description of the situation.
Reviewing a request for advice is based on pre-contractual steps taken at your request. Handling an engagement is based on its performance and applicable professional obligations. Information is intended for authorised members of the firm and technical service providers needed to operate its services, within their respective roles.
Retention
Where no engagement follows, initial contact information is retained for the time needed to deal with the enquiry, up to three months, unless retention is necessary in connection with a dispute or an applicable obligation. Where an engagement is agreed, file retention arrangements are set out in the documentation provided to the client.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing. Rights to object and data portability apply where their conditions are met. Exercising these rights takes account of the firm’s professional obligations and the rights of others.
